Recipe – Pear Pie

Pear Pie

This recipe comes from a friend of Barb. Her kids devour the pie before her husband can get a bite.  Now I know what to do with the box of pears from Costco that all ripen at once!

 

 



Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

  • 1 unbaked deep dish pie crust
  • 3 whole pears, skinned and halved
  • 1 can of pear slices (optional for filling in around fresh pears)
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream, not whipped

Line pie pan with crust, lay pears cut side down and add canned pears to fill in if desired.  Stir together the sugar, flour and salt and then add whipping cream and stir until combined.  Pour over pears and sprinkle with cinnamon.

Bake at 375 for 35 minutes.  Turn off the oven and let sit in the warm/off oven for another 5 minutes.

Serve warm with ice cream and enjoy!
